Dr. Mike Daley and Jill Daley present another installment of their popular lecture/concert series at Hugh’s Room Live with The James Taylor Story. Taylor’s music embodies the art of songwriting in its most personal and universal forms. In 1971, Taylor was on the cover of Time magazine, heralded as the harbinger of the singer-songwriter era. Over four decades later, his introspective lyrics and unique guitar playing still blaze a path to which young musicians aspire. Mike Daley is a musicologist and sought-after lecturer on popular music history and his wife Jill is a full-time pianist at Canada’s National Ballet School and Musician-In-Residence at Church of the Redeemer. Mike and Jill will be joined by Will Reid for the evening on vocals.
