Performing since 1996, Oh Susanna has released eight critically acclaimed albums. She is the recipient of a Genie Award for Best Original Song and a Canadian Folk Music Award for English Songwriter of the Year. She has also been nominated for two Juno Awards each for Best Roots and Traditional Album of the Year, as well as two Canadian Folk Music Awards for Best Solo Performer and for Best Contemporary Singer of the Year
Signed to Atlantic/Warner Records at the tender age of 19, three-time Juno nominee and modern-day Renaissance woman Sarah Slean has since released 11 albums in over 10 countries worldwide – but perhaps the most astonishing aspect of her artistry is its breadth. Over her 20-year career, Slean has published two volumes of poetry, starred in short films and a movie musical (spawning two Gemini Award nominations), penned two string quartets, held numerous exhibitions of her paintings, and shared the stage with 10 of the country’s professional orchestras.
Unlike some desperate trend chasers, from his days in the legendary Canadian cult band Local Rabbits, Elkas has always known his voice and trusted who he really is—a witty, romantic, old school soul rocker. Maybe that’s why he can hang out with Springsteen in New Jersey or collaborate with people like Charlie Sexton and Joel Plaskett. Blood brothers know their own. Check out his new release: Lion.
Since first planting roots within the Canadian music scene in 2011, Ken Yates has steadily grown a reputation as one of the country’s brightest singer/songwriters. His sound offers the complete package—unforgettable melodies, emotionally charged storytelling, and top-notch guitar chops—all gloriously displayed on Yates’ album, Huntsville, which received two Canadian Folk Music Awards for Songwriter of the Year and New Artist of the Year in 2017.
Pushing an upbeat, melody-driven brand of indie rock with a bare bones harmony centric delivery, Side Hustle were formed in Toronto in 2016. Fronted by song writing duo Pete Casey and Chloë Doucet, Side Hustle began after Chloë caught Pete’s solo residency with a three-piece band and the pair immediately bonded over a love of 60s pop song craft. Chloë joined on keys and vocals a month later. Side Hustle released their first single in January 2018 entitled ‘This’ll Never Seem Real’.
