2021 Fundraising Campaign

As we continue to move forward in support of our new plans for Hugh’s Room (Live), we are currently undertaking a key assessment review for a new venue to house our live music experience. Over the next month, we will require start-up funds to pay for the due diligence processes of evaluating the acquisition of a potential venue, zoning and building assessments on the venue, and a deposit on an acquisition of the venue (100% fully refundable) should we decide to proceed to purchase. If this assessment review proves successful, we will be launching a separate Capital Fund Fundraising Campaign to support this acquisition and will be pursuing partners to support us in this process including the City of Toronto, the Governments of Canada and Ontario, Private Foundations and targeted Business, Financial and Entertainment sector organizations.

At this time, we have identified a potential venue for our permanent home located at 296 Broadview (see link) which was designed by E.J Lennox, the architect for Old City Hall and Casa Loma, located on the west side of Broadview south of Gerrard Street.

Our goal is to raise $75,000 over the next few weeks to fund these key assessment activities. To date, we have already secured $25,000 of our goal from our volunteers. If you have the financial capacity to support our fundraising initiative, we welcome your tax-deductible charitable contribution of any amount to assist us in achieving this financial goal. Please make your donation via Canada Helps (https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/hughs-room-for-the-performing-arts-inc/ where a tax receipt will be issued upon your charitable contribution.

If you have any questions, or just require further information, please feel free to reach out directly to Jim Thomas, Alternate Chair, via email (ccchangeca@gmail.com) or cell (416) 535-6994. Jim will gladly provide you further details and answer any questions you may have.

In addition, if you have family and colleagues who would like to also participate, please kindly reach out to them. You will find attached some background information that might be helpful in your emails to them.

In closing, once again we thank you for your continued assistance and look forward to sharing with you our results as we continue to strive towards bringing back the Hugh’s Room (Live) experience for everyone to enjoy.
