Meagan Luchko and Donovan Locke are an energetic vocal duo who have been performing together for over 7 years. Performing classic jazz and more from the swing era, their on-stage chemistry has enthralled audiences across Ontario. Reinventing the style of Louis Prima and Keely Smith, for this show Locke and Luchko have put together their hits in a fun and innovative way, while also recreating Louis and Keely’s unique musical relationship.
Having started singing in church at a very early age, Donovan Locke is a multi-talented vocalist based in Toronto. He joined the Toronto All-Star Big Band in his teens, with whom he’s performed across Ontario and also in the USA. Donovan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University and went on to finish his Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University. He has been a part of many Canadian productions such as David Ferry’s ‘The Postman’ and Ann-Marie Donovan’s ‘Sounding Rituals’. Performing a variety of music regularly across the GTA, Donovan has had the honour of singing with Cleo Laine, John Dankworth and Jackie Richardson among many others. In addition to performing and teaching music privately, Donovan is also a teacher with the Peel District School Board.
Meagan Luchko is a contemporary jazz vocalist, fast rising through the ranks in Toronto’s music industry. She has been performing professionally in and around the GTA for over 7 years, and has also had the honour of performing with legendary musicians such as John Scofield, Pat LaBarbera, Jackie Richardson, Doc Severinsen and Donny McCaslin. A recent graduate of Humber’s prestigious music program, Meagan also teaches at the Toronto Faculty of Music. Heavily influenced by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Patti Andrews, Keely Smith and Elis Regina, Meagan’s passion for the tradition combined with her love of being on stage make her an engaging and captivating performer.
In addition to performing around the GTA with various projects, Donovan and Meagan appear as featured vocalists with the Toronto All-Star Big Band.
