Suzie Vinnick is gearing up for a busy summer with festival appearances in Harrison Hot Springs, BC; Canmore, AB, Edmonton, AB and more – her July 12th Hugh’s Room show will be one of only a few local appearances this summer and will feature material from her latest release “Live At Bluesville” plus faves from Me ‘n’ Mabel, Happy Here and her other releases.
A few words from Suzie Vinnick about her upcoming CD Live At Bluesville: “My first solo acoustic blues album, Me ‘n’ Mabel, dubbed “the little album that could” by my producer, Danny Greenspoon and I, has opened many doors for me. I’ve been fortunate to do a bunch of touring in the United States and internationally over the past year – Madison Square Park Conservancy in New York City, performing in Germany at the Women in (e) Motion Festival in Bremen, and being invited to record in Washington, DC with Bill Wax, the Program Director of B.B. King’s Bluesville at Sirius/XM Radio.
Treasa Levasseur introduced me to Bill Wax in Toronto at the Blues Summit Five in January 2011; once the Me ‘n’ Mabel CDs were in my hands I sent him a copy. Steve Marriner of MonkeyJunk was speaking with Bill and they got to talking about my new album – Bill ended up playing the heck out of Me ‘n’ Mabel on Bluesville – it charted for seven weeks on B. B. King’s Bluesville “Picks to Click” reaching number three! I am extremely grateful for this exposure to wider markets and the positive feedback on Me ‘n’ Mabel from fans. In November 2011, as part of a two week tour in the US my trusty guitar, Mabel and I spent a few hours recording at the Sirius/XM Radio studio with Bill and his team. We felt so good about the recording session that we wanted to share these eight tracks with you. Hope you enjoy Live At Bluesville!”
Suzie’s upcoming album, Live At Bluesville features Suzie and her parlour guitar, Mabel, and will appeal to fans of Suzie’s album Me ‘n’ Mabel and her earlier, roots-music based album, Happy Here.
